Ludhiana, February 27, 2014: National Youth Policy of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports was launched here by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Ludhiana. The Policy has been launched for overall development and empowerment of the youths.
An impressive function under the leadership of the NYK Youth Co-ordinator Samson Masih was held at RS Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar and the school-children take out the rally. The rally was flagged off by DCC (U) President Pawan Dewan and DCC (Rural) Malkit Singh Dakha.
Earlier address the function, both Dewan and Dakha said the youths were the biggest jewellery of the nation. They hoped that the youths would get a chance to perform their responsibilities by going ahead and work for development of the nation.  They said the youths would get a chance under various schemes worth Rs.9,000 crore for empowerment, training and employment. Besides the youths would be able to get benefit of sports councils to be set up by GoI in 6500 blocks under Rajiv Gandhi Sports Movement.
The NYK District Co-ordinator Samson Masih spoke in detail about the new policy. He said 27.5 per cent youth between the age of 15-29 come under the younger generation. These youths would be able to get benefits under various schemes of National Youth Policy-2014.
In his address, Principal Mohan Lal Kalra said NYKs were the GoI’s main organisation for the youths. He added NYKs played an important role for overall development of the youths.
