Last pay drawn fixed as family pension in Punjab

Chandigarh, May 27, 2014:  The Punjab Government has decided to pay special family pension to the dependents of deceased employee equal to the Last Pay drawn with effect from 1 April 1, 2014.    
 A Spokesperson of Punjab Government informed that in this regard a notification has been issued. He said that Special Family Pension would be fixed equal to the Last Pay drawn by the dependents of the deceased employee and it would be given to the dependents  on the basis of notional retirement of the employee (till completion of 58 years of age).
He said that from now special family pension would be set on above formula and implemented from 1 April, 2014 on revised rates. He also made it clear that there would be no payment of any arrears. In those cases special family pension has already been set, they will not be entertained. According to the Spokesperson other existing rules / guidelines would be applicable as before in special family pension.
