Kular welcomes Former President of India at PITEX 2025 Inauguration

Today, Gurmeet Singh Kular, President FICO & Former Zonal Chairman, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Ludhiana Zone), had the honour of welcoming former President Ram Nath Kovind, at the inauguration of the Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX) – 2025 in Amritsar. During the inspiring interaction, discussions revolved around the growth trajectory of Punjab, industrial development, and the immense future potential of the MSME sector in the state.

Ludhiana/Amritsar, December 6, 2025: Today, Gurmeet Singh Kular, President FICO & Former Zonal Chairman, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Ludhiana Zone), had the honour of welcoming former President Ram Nath Kovind, at the inauguration of the Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX) – 2025 in Amritsar. During the inspiring interaction, discussions revolved around the growth trajectory of Punjab, industrial development, and the immense future potential of the MSME sector in the state. 

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Former President Ram Nath Kovind highlighted Punjab’s evolving economic landscape. He noted that “Punjab, once known mainly as the ‘bread basket of India’, is now rapidly emerging as a power hub in MSMEs, technology, and ease of doing business.” He emphasized that Punjab has now become a centre for trade, manufacturing, MSME expansion, and global entrepreneurship. He further suggested that PHDCCI should consider expanding PITEX outside Punjab, proposing that a similar edition could be held in New Delhi to enhance the expo’s international visibility. Calling PITEX a “historic platform that connects domestic and international businesses, promotes cross-border partnerships and strengthens economic ties,” he expressed happiness over the strong participation of MSMEs, startups, women entrepreneurs, and artisans in this year's expo.
