Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) organizes Kisan Gosthi on Dairy Farming

Ludhiana, June 16, 2017: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana organized an on campus Kisan Gosthi on Dairy farming in which 26 dairy farmers from different corners of Mohali district participated. Balanced dairy feeding and mastitis control and treatment were the hot topics of this Kisan Gosthi. During the inaugural ceremony Dr. Yashwant Singh, Deputy Director gave a brief insight about the working and farmer oriented programs carried out by KVK. Apart from this he also gave lecture on dairy housing and management practices. Dr.Randhir Singh, Assistant Professor (Livestock Production) gave detailed knowledge on balanced dairy feeding and composition of balanced dairy ration. He also shared information on mastitis control and treatment. Apart from this, he also gave answers to various queries raised by farmers. On this occasion representatives of popular dairy feed additive brand ‘Kamin’ also participated. Dr. Manish Pathak (Kamin) gave lecture on heat stress in dairy animals. Dr. Vikas Phulia, Assistant Professor (Fisheries) gave lecture on integration of dairy with fisheries. Keeping in view the demand of dairy farmers present in this gosthi Krishi Vigyan Kendra promised next kisan gosthi at village Dhakkar Kalan in July.
