Krishi Vigyan Kendra Fatehgarh Sahib organised Live Webcasting of PM Kisan Scheme

Ludhiana, July 27, 2023: Krishi Vigyan Kendra organised live webcasting of PM KISAN Scheme on 27-7-2023 under the aegis of ICAR ATARI, New Delhi. The programme was organised under the flagship scheme of Government of India which aimed to provide direct income support to all landholding farming families.

During the webcasting the Prime Minister released the benefits of the 14th instalment of PM KISAN. During the programme a total of 100 farmers and farm women participated.

Dr. Vipan Kumar Rampal Associate Director (Training) KVK Fatehgarh Sahib welcomed the participants and gave detailed information about the upcoming activities of KVK and PM KISAN Scheme for the welfare of farmers. Technical sessions were conducted by the KVK scientists.

Reet Verma Assistant Professor (Plant Protection) gave detailed information about the insect and pest management in paddy. Dr. Ajay Kumar Assistant Professor (Soil Science) discussed about weed management in paddy crops.

Dr. Arvind Preet Kaur, Assistant Professor (Horticulture) provided information about the care of horticulture crops in rainy season.

Dr. Manisha Bhatia Assistant Professor (Home Science) gave information about the preventive measures for safe drinking water and methods to prevent water borne diseases in farm families.

Dr. Shiva Bambhota Assistant Professor (FMMPE) informed the farmers about the schemes of government for establishment of agro-processing complex. Dr. G P S Sethi Assistant Professor (Animal Science) gave a detailed account of the vaccination schedule of the dairy animals and care of animals during rainy season.

During the programme ex-trainees of KVK shared their experiences and motivated the farmers and farm women to participate in various activities organised by KVK to get information about the latest agriculture related technologies.
