Knee joints care program launched at Amcare Hospital, Zirakpur

Chandigarh, September 11, 2021: A knee joints care program along with stitchless & painless knee replacement surgeries (SLPL) have been launched at Amcare Hospital, Zirakpur.

Talking to media during a press conference at Chandigarh on Saturday, Dr. Gagandeep Gupta who has joined Amcare Hospital, Zirakpur as Consultant-Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement recently said that knee replacement usually involves incision, stitches, and long-time complete bed rest for the patient. But now with the use of SLPL technique, the total Knee replacement can be done without any stitches.  

Dr Gupta who has operated upon more than 300 patients with SLPL further informed that after SLPL offers better recovery and confidence after the treatment. The patients can expect faster discharge from the hospital and less follow-up visits to hospital.

Dr. Bushu Harna , Orthopaedicain said that the patients can take shower or bath immediately after surgery. There is also no need for changing the bandage. There are no scars left on the knee therefore cosmetically better and there is negligible chance of getting infection unlike in metal stitches, he asserted.
