Jalandhar, May 19, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) softball team showcased an exceptional performance at the prestigious 11th Inter-Zonal Senior National Softball Championship (2026-27) clinching the Silver Medal and bringing immense laurels to the institution and the region.
The national-level championship was held at Bheemunipatnam, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh witnessing fierce competition from top-tier teams across the country. The star players of KMV who represented the team and displayed outstanding sportsmanship, strategic acumen, and grit on the field are Ishika, Sharanjit Kaur, Anubeer Kaur, Sanjana Sharma and Ravina.
Director Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the brilliant players on this monumental achievement. She emphasised that KMV has always provided state-of-the-art sports infrastructure, financial support, and a highly conducive environment for young women to excel in sports alongside their academics. She remarked that these players have proved their mettle at the national stage and serve as an inspiration for other young girls to pursue sports at the highest level. The team’s phenomenal success is credited to the rigorous training and mentorship provided by the Coach, Phillip Chauhan, along with the constant guidance and support of the faculty members, Dr. Davinder Singh and Amandeep Kaur.
