KMV’s NCC cadets excel at National level camps

KMV’s NCC cadets excel at National level camps

Jalandhar, January 8, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) works to empower youthful women and focuses on their holistic development. NCC is the largest youth organization which shares this noble dream with KMV. NCC cadets at KMV work hard to realize the noble mission of their Institution. NCC Cadets of KMV were given an opportunity to participate in 5 National camps in the session and excelled at all of them. Sgt. Khushbu Rai, Sgt. Vinakshi Choudhary and Sgt.Geetika Sharma attended the Basic Leadership Camp (BLC) at NCC academy Malout and gave their best to achieve 10 medals in total in various activities conducted during the camp. Vinakshi secured 3 medals 1 gold in skit, 1 gold as a Group Leader of Jalandhar group and 1 silver in Tug of War. Khushbu also bagged 3 medals 1 gold in skit, 1 silver in tug of War and 1 silver in group dance whereas Geetika bagged 4 medals 1 gold in debate, 1 gold in anchoring, 1 gold in skit and 1 bronze in Group song. Two Cadets U/O Shruti Karwal and S/UO Harvinder Kaur attended the Independence Day Camp (IDC) in Delhi. Two NCC Cadets of KMV participated and excelled in the National level adventure foundation rock climbing training course at Pittoragarh. Kumoun Uttrakhand, SU/O Harvinder was selected camp senior and was awarded a medal for getting 1st position in the camp. She was awarded with the medal for best cadet of the camp. Sgt Shweta Rana was also awarded certificate for completing the training successfully and 1st prize in artificial wall climbing. It is pertinent to mention that this was a national level camp in which cadets from all over India comprising 17 directorates of NCC attended the same. Sgt. Yashika Sharma was the only one from the college who was selected for the Thal Sainik Camp. She represented the directorate and introduced the line area during the camp and was also selected for SSB group discussion and interview from Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh directorate at Delhi and excelled at national level All India Thal Sainik Camp (AITSC) 2022. It is a matter of great pride that S/UO Vajinder Kaur was selected for Super 30 SSB Training Camp for which only 30 cadets from all over India are selected. U/O Shruti Singh is the only cadet selected for attending the camp at OTA Chennai from Jalandhar group. Recently, KMV was also bestowed with Best Institution Award by 2 Pb.(G)Bn.NCC Jalandhar. KMV NCC Unit was honoured by NCC for displaying outstanding performance and contribution of exceptional order in the field of promoting NCC and social service activities. 
Principal Prof Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of NCC for working zealously to come up with a variety of opportunities and activities everyday so that girls can emerge as the future leaders of the Nation.
