KMVites pay visit to CSIR-IHBT Palampur; Students enlighten about ongoing research
Jalandhar, March 3, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya’s Department of Biotechnology organized an educational visit to CSIR-IHBT, Palampur. Students of B.Sc Biotechnology and B.Sc medical went for an educational visit at CSIR- Institute of Himalayan Bio resource Technology, Palampur. The visit was organized to make the students aware of the recent research going on in the field of Biotechnology, Genomics, Nanotechnology, Chemical, Drugs etc. Students also paid a visit to the different departments and research laboratories of CSIR-IHBT including Biodiversity unit, Molecular Biology lab, Plant Tissue Culture Lab, Tea Processing Unit, Natural Products Processing Unit and Nanotechnology Lab. The visit made the students enthusiastic and passionate to join different research labs after completing their graduate and postgraduate courses. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that these types of educational visits proves to be a boon for the students as they receives proper industrial exposure so that they can excel in their respective fields. She further maintained that these types of student oriented activities are a regular feature in KMV as college provides the most suitable environment for the overall development of the students. She also lauded the efforts of Biotechnology Department for their initiative. Mrs Navgeet, Head, Department of Biotechnology, Ms Latika Khosla, Ms Anika Karir and Ms Navjeet Kaur accompanied the students for the visit.
