KMVites gain insights into Mutual Funds and Securities Market Careers
Workshop organised in collaboration with National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM)

Jalandhar, September 10, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) has always been making efforts for the holistic development of the students. In keeping with this tradition, P.G. Department of Commerce and Business Administration in association with National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) organised a workshop on Mutual Funds and Career in Securities Market for the students of B.Com (Honours) Sem. V, B.Com (Pass and Honours) Sem. V, BBA Sem. V and M.Com Sem.III, B. Voc. (MSP) Sem V.
The resource person for the workshop was Nagesh Kumar, an empaneled trainer with National Institute of Securities Market, Securities and Exchange Board of India.
During the workshop, Nagesh Kumar apprised the students with various topics like Investment in Secondary Market, ways to invest in Mutual Funds and precautions to be taken while investing in Securities market. He also discussed about the functions of Securities Market in detail & explained the operational structure and various types of Mutual Funds by giving an in depth knowledge regarding working of Mutual Funds. He also acquainted the students about the role of SEBI in orderly functioning of exchanges and mutual funds. He acquainted the students with various career options available in the securities market like Mutual Fund Distributors, Stock Brokers, Research Analyst, Portfolio Manager and Wealth Manager. The workshop was very interactive and indeed a great learning experience for all the participants.
Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi expressed her gratitude for the resource person and lauded the efforts of Dr. Neeraj Maini, Dr. Sabina Batra and faculty members for taking initiatives to make the students abreast of the latest developments in the field of Securities Market.
