KMVites complete Practical Internships at Leading Hospitals
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) students of Bachelor of Science (Medical Laboratory Technology) from P.G. Department of Zoology successfully completed internship at various diagnostic laboratories and hospitals.
Jalandhar, August 12, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) students of Bachelor of Science (Medical Laboratory Technology) from P.G. Department of Zoology successfully completed internship at various diagnostic laboratories and hospitals. Students of B.Sc. (MLT) Sem IV completed one-month internship at Sacred Heart Hospital (Jalandhar), Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS, Jalandhar) and B.Sc. (MLT) Sem II students completed 15 days training at Manav Sehyog Society Dispensaries (Jalandhar). During training, students developed practical skills in the collection, processing and storage of clinical specimens. They learned working of different diagnostic equipments, quality control and safety practices. They gained knowledge about laboratory investigation such as patient identification, test requisition, testing, processing, validation, documentation and reporting of results. Students learned importance of correct patient identification, proper labelling, aseptic conditions, waste disposal and confidentiality. Director (Prof.) (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the students for successful completion of their internship. She acknowledged the efforts of the department whose commitment and guidance contributed to the successful completion of their internship. She emphasized that internships equip students with confidence, practical skills and professional competence.
