KMV welcomes new Students with an Engaging Orientation Programme
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised an Orientation Programme for the new students of the academic session 2026–27. It was aimed at helping the students familiarise themselves with the institution, its academic environment, student support systems, and the opportunities available to them on campus.
Jalandhar, August 11, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised an Orientation Programme for the new students of the academic session 2026–27. It was aimed at helping the students familiarise themselves with the institution, its academic environment, student support systems, and the opportunities available to them on campus.
The orientation programme featured a series of informative and engaging sessions conducted by experienced faculty members on diverse themes relevant to the personal, academic and professional development of young learners. The sessions addressed contemporary and practical aspects of student life.
Dr. Pardeep Arora conducted a session on “Generative AI: Transformative Learning & Creativity”, highlighting the emerging role of Artificial Intelligence in education and encouraging students to use technology creatively and responsibly. Dr. Harpreet Kaur sensitised students through the session “Wear Confidence, Not Comparison: Building a Sustainable College Wardrobe”, focusing on confidence, individuality and mindful choices.
Dr. Davinder Singh addressed the importance of physical well-being through “Fitness Routine for a Healthy Lifestyle.” A session on “Bridging the Generation Gap: Causes and Solution” by Dr. Amarjot Kaur encouraged students to understand changing generational perspectives and develop healthier communication.
Dr. Deepika conducted a session on “Health & Hygiene”, creating awareness about healthy habits and personal well-being. The psychological and emotional dimensions of college life were also given due importance.
Dr. Ekta Saini spoke on “Psychology of Happy College Life”, while Dr. Sharanjit Kaur conducted a session on “The Psychology of Ambition, Building a Meaningful Path for Success,” motivating students to develop purposeful goals and a positive approach towards their future. The programme concluded with a session on “Know Your KMV” by Dr. Madhumeet Kaur, which introduced the newly admitted students to the rich legacy, academic ethos, facilities, values and functioning of the institution. The students were also familiarised with the various support systems and opportunities available to them at KMV with a session by Agrima Jain on the Department of Student Welfare.
Director Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that the programme provided the new students with a valuable platform to know their institution, understand their responsibilities, build confidence and begin their college journey with clarity and enthusiasm. The initiative reflected KMV’s commitment to nurturing not only academically accomplished students but also confident, responsible and well-rounded individuals.
