KMV successfully set up Mathematical Green Park in college campus

Jalandhar, April 26, 2022: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) set up “ Mathematical Green Park’’ at Pasricha Block of the campus. The park has been set up by PG Department of Mathematics. The park has been set up to reinforce the application of mathematics in environment and to provide a space to promote learning and discovery of ideas that convey a sense of uniqueness of Mathematics. 

Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi inaugurated the Mathematical Green Park. Students Showcased their talents on pebbles, used water bottles and other waste material to decorate the park with mathematical ideas like Mathematical Symbols and Shapes & equations. Students also displayed chart and rangoli showing equations in generating energy from windmill , equation used to produce  solar energy from solar panels which are eco-friendly gadgets. Students also wrapped the seeds of different fruits and vegetables in different geometrical shapes like Hyperbola, Square , Rectangle Trapezium, Cone, Frustum of Cone,  Cuboid etc. Madam Principal planted these seed balls and saplings in mathematical green park. Mathematics Students Ms. Vajinder kaur, Ms. Muskan, Ms. Aman, Ms.Beenu  recited poem and a Dance performance was presented by students of B.Sc (Honours) Sem. II Mathematics on the theme. 

Principal averred that the Mathematical green park will focus on Mathematics learning environment that favour and promote the desire to engage with mathematics in enriching way also give a message to the students to save our Mother Earth. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Mrs Veena Deepak, Head, PG Department of Mathematics for this wonderful initiative.
