KMV Successfully Concludes Foundation Programme-2026

Jalandhar, August 31, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous). an institution with a rich heritage, successfully concluded its Foundation Course – An Odyssey of Human Endeavour. Being organised continuously for the past 14 years, the programme has proved highly effective in bridging the gap between high school and higher education. 
The innovative value-added programme was initiated with the objective of providing a strong foundation for the intellectual development and thought process of newly admitted students. It is a compulsory programme for students of the first semester at the undergraduate level. 
During the programme, Director Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi interacted with the students and addressed them on the theme “The Human Story.” She elaborated on the evolution of human beings, the social changes that have taken place over different periods, and the ways in which technological developments and inventions have made human life easier and more comfortable. She also spoke on “The KMV Experience – The Confluence: Round-up of the Programme,” acquainting the students with the vision and mission of the institution. She highlighted KMV’s continuous pioneering efforts, since its inception, towards empowering girls and women. She motivated the students to adopt positive thinking and ethical values, follow the right path in life, and work consistently towards achieving their goals. She emphasised that along with achieving success, students should strive to become good human beings. The programme covered a wide range of insightful topics, including “The Vedas and the Indian Philosophy,” “The Changing Paradigms in Society, Religion and Literature,” “The Journey of Women and Her Dream,” “Ancient Indian History: Why It Matters and What It Teaches Us,” “Racism: Story of the West,” “Modern World at a Glance: Political and Economic Perspectives,” “My Nation, My Pride,” and “Guiding the Future: Principles of Ethical AI.” 
The students received valuable knowledge and insights on these diverse subjects from experienced faculty members, including Dr. Anushobha, Dr. Madhumeet, Vanila, Dr. Gurjot Kaur, Amarpreet Khurana, Dr. Monica, Ashima Sahni, Dr. Pradeep Arora, and others. 
On the concluding day of the programme, Dr. Madhumeet, Dean Student Welfare and Dean Languages, addressed the students on “The KMV Experience.” She familiarised them with the vision and mission of the institution and its continuous pioneering initiatives for the empowerment of girls and women since its establishment. She encouraged the students to maintain a positive outlook, embrace ethical values, and work diligently towards fulfilling the purpose of their lives while becoming responsible and compassionate human beings. 
Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the dedicated efforts of Dr. Rupika Sharma, Head, Department of Hindi; Dr. Reena Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of English; and Dr. Ekta, Head, Department of Philosophy, for their significant contribution towards the successful organisation of the programme.
