KMV students sensitised on Legal Rights and Self- Awareness during a motivational workshop
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) continuing to educate the young women on the legal and Constitutional rights organised the second module of Gender Sensitisation Program.
Jalandhar, October 24, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) continuing to educate the young women on the legal and Constitutional rights organised the second module of Gender Sensitisation Program.
Aabha Nagar, senior advocate addressed the students on the issue as she introduced the topic by defining rights and responsibilities. She talked about women's rights regarding paternal property, educational rights, right to work and to be independent financially ,and finally ,the right to social and political developments of the country that is constitutional rights. At the same time she introduced the students to the responsible and beautiful and be aware of the duties to earn their rights, and not expect to get the rights automatically. Giving credit to the person who deserves it is one of our fundamental duties she reminded the students. She repeatedly encourage the students to wake up their potential energy to the maximum limit and have self awareness. She also motivated the students to come out of their cool of isolation and participate with full enthusiasm. She also invited the questions from the students and answered them very eloquently.
Principal Prof. Dr.Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that men and women both need to be sensitised toward gender issues so that they may be able to raise their voice against various societal issues like lack of equal opportunities, dowry and physical & psychological violence.
Principal lauded the efforts of Amarpreet Khurana, Co-ordinator Women Studies Centre for implementing the program successfully.
