Jalandhar, October 12, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) P.G. Department of Zoology organized an educational trip for students of BMLS Semester I, MLT Semesters III and V, B.Sc. Medical Semester V, and M.Sc. Zoology Semester III to Central Instrumentation Facility at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar. The aim of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to advanced instrumentation and ongoing research in the field of Zoology and Life Sciences.
During the visit, students explored the Central Instrumentation Facility, where they were introduced to advanced instruments including Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), Confocal Microscope and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. They were introduced to the basic principles and applications of these techniques in studying cellular structures, ultrastructure, advanced imaging, molecular characterization, and biochemical analysis. The students also visited different research laboratories in the Department of Zoology, where they were acquainted with ongoing research activities and various laboratory techniques being used in contemporary zoological research. The visit was highly informative and helped students relate their theoretical knowledge with advanced instrumentation and practical research applications.
The students were accompanied by Dr. Archana Saini, Head of the Department, Dr. Shweta, Dr. Kavita and Dr. Komalpreet.
