KMV receives award for maximum participation in Swacchta League from Municipal Corporation

Jalandhar, September 29, 2022: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) always motivate its students to participate in all kind of extra curricular activities in order to develop their personality. In a new achievement, KMVites participated in various competitions organised under India Swachta League which is organised by Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India. The students participated in all the competitions namely Swacchta Pledge, Quiz, Street Play, Slogan Writing, Graffiti & Rangoli with full zeal and enthusiasm and also bagged a huge haul of  prizes in these competitions. It is pertinent to mention that KMV was declared Institution with Maximum Participation in these competitions as 160 students gave their splendid performance. Students displayed beautiful slogans  depicting the importance of cleanliness and also gave a message of clean and green environment. Students of Fashion Designing received topmost prizes in Sustainable Rangoli, Vegetable Eco-Bags, Best out of Waste Dress from Egg trays and Mural Making. Students also performed brilliantly in the quiz competition which was based on Swacch Bharat. The graffiti made by Fine Arts students on the theme of Swacchta was also awarded and appreciated by all. Students displayed extraordinary talent and showcased in the street play how greed of man is  destroying the planet.

 

Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated all the students on their brilliant achievement. She averred that KMV in recent years considers the environmental impacts of most of its actions and makes a concerted effort to act in an environmentally responsible manner. The college has adopted scientific methods based on 3-R Principal (Reduce- Reuse- Recycle) in handling Solid, Wet, Chemical, Bio-medical, and E-wastage. She further maintained that KMV is committed to work in this direction with an aim to develop campus as a Zero Waste Zone of Jalandhar city and then to implement this model in the villages adopted by the KMV under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan  and also to the surrounding areas of the college.

 

Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Head P. G. Department of Fashion Designing, Mrs. Ashima Sahni, Incharge NSS, Mr. Yogeshwar Hans, Head, PG Department of Fine Arts, Mr. Sehajpal, Dr. Pradeep Arora & Dr. Anu Shobha for inspiring the students for these meaningful initiatives.
