KMV pays a rich tribute to Shaheed Udham Singh on his Martyrdom Day

Jalandhar, July 31, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) paid a heartfelt tribute to the great freedom fighter, Sardar Udham Singh, on his martyrdom day. A special event was organised by the Department of History, PG Department of English & Department of Student Welfare to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of the revolutionary patriot. To engage students and make them aware of Sardar Udham Singh's legacy, a poster-making and slogan-writing competition was held. Students from various departments participated with great enthusiasm, creating vibrant and thought-provoking posters that depicted different aspects of his life and struggle. The slogans captured the essence of his revolutionary spirit and his ultimate sacrifice for the motherland. The posters and slogans were displayed in the college premises, attracting a large number of students and faculty members. The creative expressions served as a powerful medium to revisit the history of the freedom struggle and appreciate the contributions of our national heroes. 
Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi in her address highlighted the unparalleled courage and unwavering determination of Sardar Udham Singh. "His sacrifice is a powerful reminder of the immense price paid for our nation's freedom," she stated. "Sardar Udham Singh's act was a symbolic protest against the brutal injustice of British rule and a call for a complete revolution." She further urged the students to draw inspiration from his life and strive to become responsible citizens who contribute positively to the nation. 
Principal lauded the efforts of the Dr Gurjot, Head, Department of History and Dr Madhumeet, Dean, Department of Student Welfare & Head, PG Department of English for successfully organising the event.
