Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalayaorganized a three day workshop on ‘Intervention Planning’. The workshop was organized by the PG Department of Psychology. The resource person for the workshop was Dr Katalin Felvinczi, Associate Professor, Eotvos Lorand University, Budapest, Hungary who has come to KMV under exchange program.
It is worth a mention here that Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi during her visit to Hungary, had signed an MOU with the top ranking Eotvos Lorand University, Hungary. MOU includes exchange of students, faculty, joint research activities and publications and exchange of academic materials et al. As exchange programs provide global exposure, the students of both institutions stand to gain a lot from these programs. Under this exchange programme last year Dr. Robert Urban, Professor in Health Psychology from Eotvos Lorand University, Institute of Psychology, Hungary came to KMV. The workshop on Intervention Planning was attended by the undergraduate and postgraduate students of the department of Psychology. Group Discussion and group activities were also done by Dr Katalin. She discussed about the various steps through which an effective intervention can be planned for the maximum benefit of the individual. Students also got hands-on experience to strategize a plausible intervention. They also learned various skills to enhance their ability to devise treatment plans to deal with various problems.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that such cross-cultural ventures will promote a better understanding of human psychology of people belonging to different cultures. Workshops as the present one, conducted by a foreign faculty are a regular practice at KMV. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Katalin and PG Department of Psychology for providing a learning exposure to the students.
