KMV organizes photography competition

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment, Ranked No.1 in India by India Today Ranking (various categories) has always been at the forefront in making a noble contribution to the society. In order to keep the negativity at bay and to motivate the students to explore their creative aspect, KMV organized anOnline Photography Competition titled ‘Picture Perfect’. The photography competition was organized by the Department of Student Welfare. The competition was held online in which students from their home participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. Students captured the photographs in & around their homes only for this competition. They shared their photographs online under the hashtag #KMV KARES& each student was instructed to submit not more than 2 photographs.It is worth a mention here that various social outreach activities such as distribution of masks, distribution of food to the needy people & spreading the awareness against the COVID-19 are being done under the # KMV KARES. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that the students of KMV are fully rounded personalities and they always participate in plethora of meaningful activities organized by the college for their holistic development. In the days of lockdown, where students are at their home, they are maintaining a balance between their studies and other activities. Competition like this enhances the overall personality of the students and also motivates them to channelize their energy for creative pursuits. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Dean, Department of Student Welfare and other faculty members for motivating the students to participate in this noble initiative. Dr Neeraj Maini, Mrs Amarjot, Mr Sehajpal & Mr Sandeep were the judges for the competition.
The results for the competition were as follows:
1st prize- Kashvi, B.Com (Regular) Sem IV &Rohini B.Sc. (FD) Sem IV
2nd prize- Sanya, B.Sc. (Biotech) Sem VI
3rd prize-  Kritika Saini, B.Voc. (TD & AT) Sem IV
Consolation Prizes were given to Nandita, B.Voc (Beauty & Wellness) Sem IV, Harleen Kaur, B. Sc. (FD) Sem VI &Jasdeep Kaur BA Sem II. Special Prize was also given to Kamakshi Sharma, BA (Hons.) English Sem IV
