KMV organizes online 135th Amar Jyoti- A pious function to mark culmination of academic session

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya organized the 135th pious Amar-Jyoti function online to mark the culmination of the academic session 2020-21. The chief guest for the occasion was Mrs Neerja Chander Mohan, Member, KMV Managing Committee. Also present to grace the occasion were Dr. Sushma Chawla, Vice President, KMV Managing Committee, Mr Alok Sondhi, General Secretary, KMV Managing Committee, Mr. Dhruv Mittal, Joint Treasurer, KMV Managing Committee. 

Making the gathering aware of the importance of Amar Jyoti, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that it is an age old tradition at K.M.V. since its inception to gave this warm send-off to the out-going students by blessing them with an exemplary and bright future. She further maintained that KMV has third time in a row been ranked No. 1 Autonomous college by India Today Ranking. Under autonomy, KMV has initiated much needed educational reforms that are in sync with the New Education Policy such as providing skill education to the students for making them employable, starting value added courses in each semester to provide holistic development to the students, moreover, the college is going to introduce BA in vocational studies & will also be introducing NCC as elective subject at undergraduate level. 

Mrs. Neerja Chander Mohan during her address motivated the students to achieve new heights in their lives and averred that KMV always provide best education to its students and work for their holistic development so that the students can achieve success in every sphere of their life. After the traditional songs exclusively sung at KMV on the occasion like Jai Jai Janani, Jai Jai Mata and Namo Desh Bhumi Namaste Namaste, the outgoing students namely Pranavcheet & Aarzoo on behalf of all the outgoing students shared some nostalgic memories with all present. 

A video showcasing the glimpses of previous Amar Jyoti function was also showcased during the function. 

Mr. Jagir Singh & Mr Balkar Chand were honored for exemplary services rendered in the college security section. 

Mr Sushil Kumar, senior lab attendant was also honored at his retirement. 

Dr. Sushma Chawla in her presidential remarks averred that she is a proud KMVite and it is only due to her excellent grooming at KMV that she was able to achieve success in life. She also advised girls that maintenance of body began in teen age and good mental as well as physical health was the key to success in life. 

Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated organizers of the programme Dr. Shalini Gulati, Dr Madhumeet, Mrs Parminder Kaur & Mrs Suman Khurana for successfully organizing the function.
