KMV Organizes an Educational Visit to NABI, Mohali

Jalandhar, April 28, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-The Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar has been at the fore front in imparting quality education to the students. Keeping with the trend, Department of Biotechnology organized an educational visit to the National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute, Mohali for the students of B.Sc. (Biotechnology). Dr. Monika Garg, a scientist at NABI, Mohali enlightened the students about the development of designer crops with high nutrition and increased shelf-life. During the visit, the students were enlightened about the role of Biotechnology in the development of better crops. Students also got practical demonstrations for some sophisticated instruments like Ultralow temperature freezer, Plant Growth Chamber, Mass Spectrometer(MALDI-TOF, QTOF), HPLC, UPLC, Ultracentrifuge, Gas Chromatography Apparatus & Analytical Balance etc.
Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of Department of Biotechnology for such initiatives. She averred that these types of visits are always knowledge filled and make the students enthusiastic to pursue the research in the field of Biotechnology. She further maintained that in KMV, we provide a world class infrastructure to the students as we have very modern & high tech science labs that helps students to gain all the practical exposure required for their overall growth.
