KMV organises week-long Festivities and Digital Competitions to mark Hindi Day Celebrations 

Jalandhar, September 14, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a Hindi Day celebration on the theme “Hindi: From Tradition to Technology” to commemorate Hindi Day.
Addressing the students on the occasion, Director, Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi, highlighted the significance of Hindi Day and the Hindi language. She emphasised that while it is important to acquire knowledge of other languages as per the demands of the changing times, the practical use and regular practice of the national language should always be considered a matter of pride. Dr. Madhumeet, Head, Department of English and Dean, Student Welfare and Languages, also addressed the students and encouraged them to maintain accuracy and correctness while using any language. 
Dr. Anand Prabha, Head, PG Department of Mathematics, presented a beautiful poem expressing her love and affection for the Hindi language through meaningful thoughts and emotions. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a floral welcome and felicitation of the esteemed guests. 
Dr. Rupika Sharma, Head, PG Department of Hindi, welcomed all the dignitaries and guests present on the occasion. In her brief address, she provided an insightful overview of the development and journey of the Hindi language from tradition to technology. At the conclusion of the programme, Dr. Anushobha, Department of Hindi, expressed gratitude to all the esteemed guests, faculty members and students for their presence and cooperation. 
During the programme, everyone present also took a pledge to promote and encourage the use of the Hindi language. It is noteworthy that the college also organised a vibrant Hindi Week based on the theme “Hindi: From Tradition to Technology.” The seven-day celebration featured a variety of engaging activities aimed at promoting respect for the language, creativity and knowledge enhancement. These activities included Be a Literary Personality, Literary Quiz, One-Minute Hindi Challenge, Idiom Enactment, One Word–One Story/Picture-Based Story, Hindi Anchor Hunt/Beautiful Hindi from English, Hindi Treasure Hunt, Digital Poster Making, Reel Making and Podcasting. Students participated enthusiastically in all the activities. 
In addition, under “Meri Hindi Deewar” (My Hindi Wall), students expressed their feelings, thoughts and ideas about the Hindi language. The winners of various competitions were honoured with trophies and certificates by Director Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi, along with senior faculty members Dr. Madhumeet, Head, Department of English and Dean, Student Welfare and Languages, and Dr. Manju Sahni, Head, Department of Chemistry.
