Jalandhar, September 1, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) in a remarkable demonstration of their commitment to environmental conservation organised a successful plantation drive in a collaborative venture with the Inner Wheel Club, Jalandhar. 

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of boarder students who wholeheartedly adopted trees as part of their environmental responsibility. The event, held on the lush green campus of KMV College, brought together students, faculty, and members to plant a diverse range of tree species, including indigenous varieties that are essential for maintaining the ecological balance & also planted saplings with care and pledged to nurture them to maturity. 

Principal Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi emphasised the importance of such initiatives in today’s world. She averred that Environmental conservation is a global concern, and it is heartening to see our students actively engage in taking responsibility for the environment. This plantation drive is just one step in our ongoing commitment to sustainability. She further maintained that this plantation drive reflects KMV’s commitment to environmental stewardship and the importance of engaging the younger generation in sustainable practices. It serves as a reminder that collective efforts can bring about positive change for a greener and cleaner world. 

Resham Kaur, President of the Inner Wheel Club, expressed her delight at the collaboration and said that working alongside the energetic students of KMV College has been a pleasure as together we can make a substantial contribution to a greener, healthier planet. 

Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Dean, Department of Student Welfare for successfully organising the drive. Dr. Tarsem Lal was also present on the occasion.
