KMV observes world cancer day

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya organized a lecture on Cancer Awareness to commemorate the World Cancer Day. The event was organized by the Red Ribbon Club under the aegis of Department of Student Welfare. Dr Anubha, Medical Oncologist, Patel Hospital, Jalandhar was the resource person for the lecture. 


During the lecture, Dr Anubha enlightened the students with the different types of cancer & also shared her knowledge about the causes, symptoms, diagnosis, screening method & epidemiology. She also highlighted the role of genetic & environment factors in causing cancer to the humans. The main objective of this lecture was to raise awareness about cancer & to encourage its prevention, detection & treatment. 

Dr Anubha also explained in detail many treatment options which include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy & hormonal therapy etc. She also highlighted the importance of screening tests for early diagnosis and treatment for better prognosis. 
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that education is key to the prevention of cancer as these types of awareness lectures assists in creating awareness about the disease of cancer. She further maintained that KMV from time to time keeps on organizing such types of lectures for the proper education of the students. She lauded the efforts of                     Dr Madhumeet, Dean, Student Welfare Department & Mrs Sadhna Tandon for successfully organizing such a fruitful event.
