KMV in collaboration with the District Administration celebrates National Voters’ Day
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) in collaboration with the District Administration, Jalandhar celebrated the 16th National Voters Day by organising an inter-college declamation contest. A huge number of students from various universities and colleges participated in this event. The event was jointly organised by District Administration Jalandhar, KMV’s SVEEP Club, NSS Unit, Electoral Literacy Club, Students’ Welfare department, Voter Awareness Society and the Department of Political Science.
Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) in collaboration with the District Administration, Jalandhar celebrated the 16th National Voters Day by organising an inter-college declamation contest. A huge number of students from various universities and colleges participated in this event. The event was jointly organised by District Administration Jalandhar, KMV’s SVEEP Club, NSS Unit, Electoral Literacy Club, Students’ Welfare department, Voter Awareness Society and the Department of Political Science.
The event was based on the theme, ‘ My Vote My India’-Citizen at the Heart of Indian Democracy. The main purpose of this celebration was to encourage, facilitate and maximise enrolment, especially for the new voters.
The chief guest for the event was Prof. Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi. Addressing the gathering, she averred that India’s election commission is an exemplary institution that is providing the best voters’ rights to its youth and citizens. She also inspired students about ethical voting and to vote without being influenced by fear, religion, race, caste, or language. After the prize distribution ceremony, the program ended with an oath-taking ceremony.
Prof. Dwivedi congratulated the organisers Dr Ashima Sahni, Dr Madhumeet, Dr Iqbal Singh and Priyanka for this great initiative.
