KMV Faculty Members represent Punjab at Kanpur Conference by Prof H C Verma on Innovative Teaching Methodologies

Jalandhar, June 23, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) always stress upon innovations in science education for enabling smart and inclusive growth of students. In an another major achievement, PG Department of Physics faculty members Dr. Neetu Verma and Dr. Sangeeta Prasher were the only teachers from Punjab, who were invited by Padma Shri Prof H.C. Verma, Ex Professor, IIT Kanpur for 6 days residential National workshop of Utsahi Physics Teachers held at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. 

The workshop was designed to provide a platform for educators from all over India to exchange knowledge, explore innovative teaching methodologies and enhance their skills. It is pertinent to mention that KMV will now act as a mentor for the other institutions to adopt the methodologies taught in the workshop during their classroom ventures. 

Padma Shri H.C. Verma, a distinguished Physicist, demonstrated a range of practical experiments and explained in detail the concepts leading to the activity and also illustrated how teachers can incorporate these aids into their daily lessons to elucidate complex physics concepts and promote interactive learning. 

The participants had hands-on experience with the making of a microscope that can be utilized to get an image of the microorganisms with the help of a mobile camera. 

A session was also conducted to establish a research lab on a cost effective platform using house hold electronic equipments. As an additional highlight of the event, a captivating industrial visit to a Swasa mask making industry was also organized for the attendees. The Experimental Workshop on Teaching Aids fostered a collaborative environment where the attendees actively exchanged ideas, best practices, and challenges faced in the teaching profession. Through group discussions and interactive sessions, the participants not only learned from H.C. Verma but also from one another, creating a vibrant community of educators committed to enhance the quality of physics education in India.
