Jalandhar, December 22, 2025: KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School commemorated National Mathematics Day to honour the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. The celebrations were organised by the Department of Mathematics, which conducted a Model Making Competition for the students. Students of KMV Collegiate School actively participated in this academic celebration.

The event aimed to encourage experiential learning, creativity and logical thinking among school students by providing them with a platform to explore mathematical concepts through innovative models. Participants presented a wide range of working and non-working models based on geometry, number systems, algebraic patterns, mathematical puzzles, real-life applications of mathematics and the contributions of Ramanujan.

Students confidently explained the construction, working principles and practical relevance of their models before the judging panel. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation and reflected the students’ strong conceptual understanding and innovative approach.

The judges appreciated the originality and clarity of the presentations and motivated students to pursue mathematics beyond the classroom. Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of the Department of Mathematics for successfully organising the event and for nurturing scientific temper and analytical thinking among young learners.

The winners of the competition were honoured with trophies and certificates, while all participants received certificates of participation as a mark of encouragement.
