KMV Celebrates World Water Day with Focus on Equality and Sustainability
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) celebrated World Water Day 2026 under the global theme “Where water flows, equality grows,” emphasizing safe water and sanitation as fundamental human rights and their connection to gender equality. The event was organised by the Department of Zoology & Environmental Sciences.
Jalandhar, March 21, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) celebrated World Water Day 2026 under the global theme “Where water flows, equality grows,” emphasizing safe water and sanitation as fundamental human rights and their connection to gender equality. The event was organised by the Department of Zoology & Environmental Sciences.
On this occasion, a series of activities including poster-making and awareness sessions were conducted to sensitise students about water conservation, sustainable usage of water resources, and the importance of ensuring clean and equal access to water for all. More than 50 students participated enthusiastically, displaying their creativity and deep concern for environmental sustainability. The sessions proved both informative and inspiring, motivating students to adopt responsible practices towards conserving water.
Director Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi encouraged students to remain actively involved in such environmental initiatives in the future. She congratulated the participants and appreciated the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet Kaur, Dr. Manju Sahni, Dr. Archana Saini, Lt. Sufalica Kalia, and Dr. Karina for successfully organising the event.
