KMV celebrates World Biodiversity Day with week-long awareness drive

Jalandhar, May 29, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) celebrated World Biodiversity Day with full zeal and enthusiasm. The event was organized jointly by the Department of Zoology and Environment Science.
During the celebrations, week long activities were organised namely Sapling of life in your home garden or pots, Paper Reading Competition, Poster making and Slogan writing competition on the theme “ Harmony with Nature and Sustainable Development ”. The celebrations were organised in order to spread awareness about the Environment & Biodiversity conservation. It was a week long event in which students from all the steams participated with full zeal and enthusiasm in. During the events, students accentuated many issues like protection of species, save plants, save nature and restoring degraded, damaged or destroyed ecosystem and habitats in the environment by active human intervention and actions through plantation drives.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that KMV always prioritise environmental conservation so that the younger generation can feel their responsibility for it. She lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet( Dean, Department of Student Welfare), Dr Archana Saini ( Head, Zoology Department) and Anand Prabha ( Incharge, KMV Collegiate School) for successfully organising the celebrations.
