KMV celebrates Spirit of Fitness and Unity on National Sports Day

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a celebration for National Sports Day. The day kicked off with a highly anticipated friendly volleyball match. The game was played with full enthusiasm, showcasing impressive skills and teamwork on both sides.

Jalandhar, August 29, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a celebration for National Sports Day. The day kicked off with a highly anticipated friendly volleyball match. The game was played with full enthusiasm, showcasing impressive skills and teamwork on both sides. 
In a display of strength and endurance, KMV organised a Push-ups and Sit-ups Challenge. Participants were tested on their ability to hold the body for the longest time. One of the most entertaining and thrilling events was the Tug of War competition. The Tug of War was a vivid reminder of the power of unity and teamwork, with participants thoroughly enjoying the experience, irrespective of the outcome. In order to promote the Indian sports, the students also performed various yogic asanas and along with that, Indian sports namely Kabaddi was also played among the students. As a commitment to a healthier lifestyle, KMV students took part in the Fit India Pledge during the celebration. The pledge ceremony was a powerful moment, with participants vowing to prioritise physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle. 
Director Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi expressed her delight at the success of National Sports Day celebration. She averred that Sports are not just about competition; they teach us discipline, resilience, and teamwork. Through events like these, we aim to instil a lifelong commitment to fitness and a spirit of unity among our students. Director lauded the efforts of Dr. Davinder Singh, Head & Amandeep Kaur, Lecturer, Department of Physical Education for successfully organising the celebrations.
