Jalandhar, January 15, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) marked National Youth Day by commemorating the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda through a vibrant series of youth-centric activities. The programmes were aimed at fostering self-belief, discipline, physical fitness and a strong sense of nation-building among students, drawing inspiration from the timeless teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
In alignment with the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission (UGC), KMV actively participated in the nationwide outreach initiative to sensitise young minds to the ideals of Swadeshi, Atmanirbhar Bharat, physical fitness, teamwork and national unity. The institution focused on instilling values of self-reliance and collective responsibility among the youth through thoughtfully designed activities.
As part of the observance, KMV organised motivational talks, disseminated messages promoting self-reliance and Swadeshi values, and carried out student registrations followed by the distribution of certificates. These initiatives were structured to ensure maximum student participation and to reflect the national call for higher education institutions to observe National Youth Day in a meaningful and impactful manner.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, reinforcing KMV’s commitment to holistic education that integrates academic excellence with character-building and civic consciousness. Students who performed exceptionally well in the activities were felicitated by Prof. Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi emphasised that celebrating National Youth Day through action-oriented and value-based programmes reaffirms KMV’s dedication to nurturing empowered, disciplined and socially responsible citizens. She added that such initiatives play a crucial role in shaping youth who are inspired by the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and are prepared to contribute positively to the nation.
