KMV celebrates 75th Independence Day

KMV celebrates 75th Independence Day

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya today celebrated 75th Independence Day. The whole ambience during the celebrations resounded with the patriotic fervour. Mrs. Anupam Kaler, Additional Chief Administrator, Jalandhar Development Authority was the Chief Guest for the occasion. 
Addressing the gathering, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that this Independence Day celebration is dedicated to the freedom fighters of our country. Prof Dwivedi exhorted all to remember the noble contribution made by our forefathers & soldiers to protect our nation. She averred that each and everyone of us should act like soldiers while performing our duty at work front. She further maintained that the citizens should remember their duties towards their nation and they should always put their nation first before anything else. Prof Dwivedi also shed light on the contribution made by KMV in the Indian freedom struggle movement. She also asked everyone to work for welfare & upliftment of our country and  averred that every citizen should follow the footsteps of freedom fighters in building a strong & prosperous India. Mrs. Anupam Kaler averred that KMV is a nationalistic institution that has a very rich heritage and it is always a matter of great pride to visit this great seat of women empowerment. She also appreciated the social extension work done by KMV in collaboration with 36 Jalandhar North under which KMV is spreading awareness on voting rights and other social issues in the society. A fashion show was also organised during the celebrations based on the theme of patriotism in which students showcased their talent & presented the rich heritage of our beloved Motherland. The group dance representing the rich, colourful & vibrant culture of the nation were also presented on the occasion. PG Department of Music also presented a patriotic group song and made the whole ambience energetic. Students also showcased their talent through various activities such as face painting & declamation. It was a celebration dedicated to the freedom of our great nation. 
Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Dean, Department of Student Welfare, Dr Gurjot, Dean, ECA & whole organising committee for successfully organising the celebrations.
