Jalandhar, September 25, 2025: Taking forward the momentum of the Anveshika Bharat Yatra in Punjab, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) extended the torch of scientific spirit to Guru Teg Bahadur Public School, Bardwal (Dhuri), and DAV College, Hoshiarpur.
The events marked two vibrant days of experiential learning, creative exploration, and scientific curiosity, in line with the vision of the Anveshika Bharat Yatra — to promote physics education through innovation and experimentation. At Guru Teg Bahadur Public School, Bardwal, Dr. Sonik Bhatia and Dr. Harleen Singh, Assistant Professors, PG Department of Physics, KMV Jalandhar, along with Prof. Jaswinder Singh, President, IAPT Regional Council RC02, ceremoniously handed over the Physics Mashal to Principal Mr. S. Satbir Singh, symbolising the continuity of knowledge and scientific inquiry. The day featured a range of engaging activities including a science exhibition where students presented innovative experiments and creative models reflecting curiosity and practical application of classroom concepts. Prof. Jaswinder Singh conducted an Experimental Workshop, emphasising hands-on learning. Dr. Harleen Singh also introduced students to the National Anveshika Experimental Skill Test (NAEST) and the LEPTON video-based quiz program conceptualised by Padma Shri Prof. H.C. Verma, aimed at fostering analytical thinking. On the third day of the Punjab leg of the Yatra, KMV carried the spirit of scientific inquiry to DAV College, Hoshiarpur. The KMV team, led by Dr. Neetu Verma, Head, PG Department of Physics and Punjab Anveshika Coordinator, along with Dr. Sangeeta Prashar and Dr. Surbhi Sharma, ceremoniously handed over the Electronic Mashal to Principal Dr. Vinay Kumar. The day featured a lively Science Exhibition followed by an Experimental Physics Workshop conducted by Dr. Neetu Verma and Dr. Surbhi Sharma, where students explored a range of concepts including Bernoulli’s principle, wave motion, Lenz’s law, circular motion, magnetic forces, optics, electricity, and magnetism. Adding to the knowledge-sharing, Dr. Sangeeta Prashar delivered an insightful lecture on Quantum Computing, a rapidly emerging domain at the intersection of physics and technology. Both events left a strong impact on the students by nurturing critical thinking, innovation, and a spirit of inquiry.
KMV Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that the Punjab Anveshika Bharat Yatra, hosted by KMV Jalandhar, continues to lead experiential physics education across the state, igniting young minds with the zeal of scientific exploration and creativity.
