Kirti of Dharamsala stuck in Kharkiv University in Ukraine
Mother pleads for her evacuation
Dharamsala, February 28, 2022: The effect of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine is being seen all over the world. Many Himachali students who went to Ukraine to study medicine are still trapped in the war zone.
One of them is Kirti, daughter of Kushala Dhiman, resident of a locality in Dharamsala. Kirti is studying in Kharkiv National Medical University for medicine, but due to the start of war between Russia and Ukraine, she is now stuck in Kharkiv, Kirti’s mother Kushala Dhiman demanding her daughter’s evacuation from State Government and the Central Government. Dhiman said that all the children of district Kangra who are trapped in Ukraine should be brought back safely to Himachal at the earliest.
Kushala Dhiman said that her daughter Kirti has been studying at Kharkiv National Medical University in Ukraine and was going to complete 5 years of her studies in May this year. She said that she had booked her daughter's flight for February 27, but on 23 February night Russia attacked Ukraine and she could not leave Kharkiv.
She said that her daughter had informed her through phone that she was hiding in bunkers and staying there without food and So far no contact has been made with her from the Indian government.
