Khelo Rohtak competition will further strengthen sports culture in the district: DC Sachin Gupta
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that the Khelo Rohtak competition would further strengthen and promote sports culture in the district. He was issuing necessary directions during a meeting held today in the auditorium of the Mini Secretariat to review preparations for the Khelo Rohtak competition, which will be organized on the lines of Khelo India from January 23 to 25.
Rohtak, January 13, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that the Khelo Rohtak competition would further strengthen and promote sports culture in the district. He was issuing necessary directions during a meeting held today in the auditorium of the Mini Secretariat to review preparations for the Khelo Rohtak competition, which will be organized on the lines of Khelo India from January 23 to 25.
DC Sachin Gupta directed coaches of the Sports Department to prepare their individual schedules to ensure the successful conduct of the competition. He instructed that the dates, timings, and venues for various categories of sports should be finalized in advance. He also directed that the registration process for teams and players across different sports categories should be started promptly.
Under the Khelo Rohtak competition, events will be organized in Athletics, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, and Wrestling.
The Deputy Commissioner said that players securing first, second, and third positions would be awarded cash prizes along with medals and trophies. He emphasized that with collective efforts, a strong sports culture can be developed in the district, encouraging widespread participation, good health, and excellence that brings recognition to the district.
He added that Khelo Rohtak is being organized with the objective of instilling respect for sports among every citizen of the district and motivating youth towards sports and fitness so that they may lead healthy and disciplined lives.
The meeting was attended by SDM Sampla Utsav Anand (IAS), Chief Minister’s Good Governance Associate Tanumoy Dutta, DSO Pradeep Kumar, and Coaches Bhavana Saini, Parikshit Kumar, Sushil Kumar, Dinesh Kumar, Shiv Kumar, Jag Pravesh, Kavita Saini, Naveen and Bablu Nayak, among others.
