Khedan Vatan Punjab Diyan competitions begin in Ferozepur
Block-level competitions under the fourth season of the “Khedan Vatan Punjab Diyan-2026” began at Lakho Ke Behram and Dulchi Ke villages in the district today.

Ferozepur, September 7, 2026: Block-level competitions under the fourth season of the “Khedan Vatan Punjab Diyan-2026” began at Lakho Ke Behram and Dulchi Ke villages in the district today.
The competitions for Mamdot block were organised at the sports ground in Lakho Ke Behram, while those for Ferozepur block were held at Dulchi Ke. Ferozepur MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar attended the event at Dulchi Ke as the chief guest, while Government Senior Secondary School, Lakho Ke Behram, Principal Rekha was the special guest at Mamdot.
Addressing the players, Bhullar encouraged them to participate in sports in large numbers, saying sports helped in the physical as well as mental development of individuals. He said consistent participation and good performance in sports could help youngsters achieve higher goals.
District Sports Officer Gurdeep Singh said several athletics events were held on the opening day. In the under-14 60-metre event at Mamdot, Khushpreet Kaur secured the first position, Aasa Gaba the second and Gaganpreet Kaur the third. In the under-17 800-metre event, Muskan stood first and Sarika Rani second, while Mrinpreet Kaur won the under-21 200-metre event.
At Ferozepur block, Jasmeet Kaur, Reidhima and Gurleen Kaur secured the first three positions respectively in the under-14 600-metre event. In the under-17 800-metre event, Amritpal Kaur stood first, followed by Jashandeep Kaur and Monica. In the under-21 800-metre event, Alisha Rani secured the first position and Praneet Kaur the second.
Coaches of the District Sports Department, DPEs/PTIs of the Education Department, Health Department teams, security personnel, village panchayat members and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
