Khanna police arrest 1, recover 1-Kg of Heroin worth crores

Khanna, November 13, 2017: A drive launched against drug peddlers and drugs got a momentum when the Khanna Police claimed to have arrested a man with 1-Kg Heroin whose market value goes upto Rs.6 crores. The alleged accused has been identified as Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Rama Mandi of Jalandhar.
As per information available from SSP, Khanna, NS Mahal a police party from Doraha was checking the vehicles near Doraha and when a private bus halted on a stoppage a person came out from the bus. The police party found the activities of the person suspicious and when the police chacked him, they found a plastic bag in his possession.
SSP added that when the police party checked the bag they found 1-Kg Heroin in it.
Asked about the value of the contraband recovered from the person, SSP said that the actual market value of the recovered contraband is yet to be confirmed but it goes in crores.
SSP further said that some more revelations could come out after the completion of the interrogation of the alleged accused. He said that a case under the Sections of the NDPS Act was registered against the accused.
