Khanna Police Achieves Major Breakthrough Against Organized Crime
Khanna Police, under the guidance of SSP Khanna Dr. Darpan Ahluwalia, and SP (Investigation) Pawanjit, has achieved a major success in the ongoing campaign against organized criminals.

Khanna, January 19, 2026: Khanna Police, under the guidance of SSP Khanna Dr. Darpan Ahluwalia, and SP (Investigation) Pawanjit, has achieved a major success in the ongoing campaign against organized criminals.
In this regard, a police team led by SHO Doraha Insp. Akash Dutt and In-charge CIA SI Narpinderpal, under the supervision of DSP (Investigation) Mohit Singla and DSP Payal Jasbinder Singh Khehra, intercepted the accused involved in FIR No. 158 dated 10.10.2025, registered under Sections 109, 111(2) BNS and Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act at Police Station Doraha.
The main accused, Harsimran Mand, resident of Dehlon, along with his associate, was traveling in a black-coloured Scorpio-N. On being intercepted, the accused attempted to escape by deliberately ramming their vehicle into the police party's vehicle. Thereafter, accused Harsimran Mand fired three rounds at the police party. The bullets hit the police vehicle and also struck the chest of SHO Doraha, who was saved due to wearing a bullet-proof jacket. Insp Akash Dutt showed extraordinary courage in the face of adversity.
In the action taken by the police party in self-defence, accused Harsimran Mand sustained a gunshot injury in the lower limbs. Both accused were apprehended on the spot. The second accused has been identified as Evanjot Singh, resident of Rara Sahib, Police Station Payal. Two illegal pistols were recovered from their possession. The injured accused was immediately shifted to hospital for emergency medical treatment.
It is pertinent to mention that accused Harsimran Mand has a criminal history across Commissionerate Ludhiana and Khanna district and is involved in organized crime syndicates, violent incidents, and use of illegal weapons. He was absconding in the earlier case registered at Police Station Doraha pertaining to an incident dated 10.10.2025, wherein the accused and his associates, while traveling in a Scorpio-N, attempted to run over a police naka party. In that case, his associates were arrested on the spot. with recovery of one .32 bore revolver, one .32 bore pistol, and 16 live cartridges, whereas Harsimran Mand managed to escape and had been wanted since then.
