Khalsa College Students Celebrate Diwali with Anaath Ashram Inmates

Jalandhar: To sensitize the youth towards the underprivileged and marginalized sections of the society, the Youth Club of Lyallpur Khalsa College organized a visit of the students to Guru Nanak Anaath Ashram Vaddiana , Jalandhar . The group led by the Principal Dr GS Samra, Youth Club Incharge Tarsem Singh and teacher members of the club distributed sweets and things of daily needs among the mentally challenged children and the old people living in the Ashram, in addition to monetary help. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Samra said that it was the duty of every society to take care of its marginalised sections so that they may not feel alienated. Similarly, various festivals should be celebrated among such groups so as to make them feel a part of the society. He congratulated Prof. Tarsem Singh for organising the visit successfully and purposefully. Prof. Sandeep Ahuja, Dr. Charanjit Singh, Dr. Dinkar Sharma, Prof. Ubique, Prof. Gagandeep Singh, Prof. Ratnakar Mann, Prof. Shweta Joshi, Prof. Harpreet Kaur were present on this occasion.
