Kejriwal again insults Sikh religion, concept of sewa, accuses Punjab BJP chief Sampla

Chandigarh, July 18, 2016: Launching a scathing attack against Aam Aadmy Party president Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab BJP president Vijay Sampla said an activity as pious as sewa should not have been reduced to a tamasha and a photo-op, that too, right inside a place as holy as the holy Sri Darbar Sahib or Harimandir Sahib, Amritsar.
Reacting to Kejriwal and his party leaders move of undertaking sewa and cleaning dishes at the Golden Temple, Sampla, a Union Minister, said with every step and every drama, Kejriwal is further landing himself in more and more trouble.
"First they had committed sacrilege by putting a photograph of Sri Harimandir Sahib on their AAP manifesto, then they put an image of a broom (jhaaro) on it. Then Asish Khetan compared the manifesto with Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Worse, he said the manifesto was Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Today, Kejriwal went a step ahead and insulted the concept of 'sewa' by using it for political purposes," Sampla said.
The BJP state president said 'sewa' was a great concept to inculcate a sense of humility in anyone. "One undertakes sewa as a very individual act. Announcing a date for sewa and rushing to do sewa with several television OB vans is an insult to the common devotees who do sewa," Sampla said, adding Kejriwal and his gang merely pushed aside sangat for their own photo-op sewa.
"People go there with their families but do all the family members get a chance to stand in a line and do sewa like this? How come Kejriwal, Chhotepur, Ashish Khetan, Jarnail Singh and sundry other leaders all stood in one line to yield an ideal photograph? Is this Kejriwal's concept of sewa?" Sampla asked.
He said the Aam Aadmi Party has today again insulted a great religion and its shrine. Also, it has also insulted every aam aadmi. "What deeply concerns me is that we still do not know who had put the photo of Golden Temple on the manifesto and who had put the picture of broom on it. Kejriwal thinks he can fool God also, but he cannot even fool a simple devout person who goes to the shrine with his head bowed, without cameras and tv channels," the BJP's state president said.
