Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous)  pays a nostalgic tribute to Shaheed-E-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh

Jalandhar, March 23, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) paid a heartfelt and nostalgic tribute to Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh on the occasion of his Martyrdom Day at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Heritage Memorial located within the college campus. The solemn event witnessed the presence of Director Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi, along with faculty members and students, who gathered to honor the supreme sacrifices of the great martyr.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dwivedi expressed deep admiration for the unparalleled courage and dedication of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev. She emphasized that remembering their sacrifices instills a sense of humility and responsibility among citizens. She urged everyone to follow the ideals of Bhagat Singh and carry forward his message, stating that this would be the truest tribute to the national hero.
She further highlighted the historic connection between KMV and Bhagat Singh, noting that he shared a close bond with the then Principal, Acharya Lajjawati Ji, and even took shelter at the institution during the freedom struggle. To commemorate this association, KMV has established a heritage memorial in the serene surroundings of its hostel campus.
Prof. Dwivedi also underlined KMV’s significant contribution to the freedom movement, stating that it has been a pioneer in women empowerment and nationalism. The institution has been highly respected by national leaders and has been visited by several Presidents and Prime Ministers of India. She concluded by appreciating the efforts of the organizing committee for successfully conducting the commemorative event.
