Kangra to establish 10 sample collection centres from Tuesday: CMO

Dharamshala: As many as 10 sample collection centre would be established in Kangra district to speed up and strengthen facilities of Covid-19 testing. These centres would be established at Zonal Hospital Dharamshala, Tanda Medical College, and Civil Hospitals at Nagrota Bagwan, Palampur, Baijnath, Dehra, Jwalamukhi, Shahpur, Nurpur and Kangra. This facility would ease and enhance the speed of testing of Corona virus suspects. These centres would start functioning from April 21.
Revealing this Chief Medical Officer Dr. Gurdarshan Gupta, “In addition to it, two mobile vans already engaged in the district were collecting samples of influenza like illness (Flu) patients. 1,000 Rapid Diagnostic Testing (RDT) kits received from the State Govt. would be employed in the hot spot areas to examine the persons suffering from ILI symptoms.”
He told that two suspects with Covid-19 symptoms had been admitted in the Zonal Hospital and five such persons were kept at RHFWUTC, Chheb. The district had conducted 450 tests so far, which included serious patients of acute breathing illness (SARI) under treatment at Tanda Medical College. Only five persons were tested Corona positive in the district till date.
CMO informed that though the State Govt. had relaxed some conditions of Curfew, but people should seriously follow the social distancing mantra, regular hand wash and other precautions.
