Kangra sub-division of AYUSH Department busy in preparations for International Day of Yoga: Dr. Bhardwaj

Dharamsala, June 17, 2023: Dr. Praveen Bhardwaj, Kangra subdivision head of AYUSH department, said that preparations for the 9th International Yoga Day in 2023 have started in full swing.  The department is following the guidelines of Dr.Rasmi Agnihotri, District Ayush Officer, which calls for emphasis on the physical, mental and spiritual dimensions of yoga.  The team of AYUSH Department is making tireless efforts to explain the benefits of Yoga to the people of all the 40 panchayats of the area with the theme “Yoga in every home”.

Apart from this, the yoga instructors of the department are visiting every school, anganwadi and 28 institutions to promote the practice of yoga.  The goal is to raise awareness about the importance of keeping the body healthy and fit through yoga.  To achieve this, the department has started a daily program till June 21, where specific types of yoga asanas, pranayama and activities are being demonstrated for the management of certain ailments.  This program is being run at educational institutions, Mahila Mandals and Panchayat level.  The department is also spreading awareness about diseases that can be cured by practicing yoga.

In Kangra sub-division, International Day of Yoga is being celebrated on the morning of 21st June at the government school of Nagrota Bagwan.
