Kangra district administration honored 468 voters turned 100 plus on International Day of Older Persons

Dharamsala, October 1, 2023: Honoring centenarian voters on the International Day of Older Persons is a wonderful gesture by the Kangra district administration. It's heartening to see recognition given to those who have witnessed so much in their lifetimes and have contributed to the democratic process by exercising their right to vote

On the International Day of Older Persons, on the guidelines of the Election Commission, the district administration honored 468 centenarian voters in Kangra district. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nipun Jindal honored 101 year old Tilko Devi of Ward No. 16 Sidhpur of Dharamshala by meeting her at her home and giving her a citation.

DC said that  Sub-Divisional Officers, Tehsildars and booth level officers in various subdivisions of the district also met such voters  and honored  those  who had completed 100 years of age. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nipun Jindal said , “The Election Commission has also provided the facility for the elderly to cast their vote at home so that all the elderly can ensure their constructive cooperation in strengthening democracy.
