In a groundbreaking move for Indian cinema, Digifilming and Mirrro Films have released the first poster of Me No Pause Me Play on World Menopause Day. The film takes on a subject rarely explored on the silver screen — menopause, an inevitable yet often unspoken chapter in a woman’s life. The film is India’s first Hindi Film to address the subject of menopause, aiming to normalize conversations around women’s health, emotional transitions, and self-acceptance.
In a society where discussions about menstruation are only just beginning to find a voice, menopause remains a taboo — a subject cloaked in silence and discomfort. Yet, it’s an inevitable and significant phase of every woman’s life, affecting her hormones, mental well-being, confidence, and identity. Through this film, the makers hope to break stereotypes, spark awareness, and foster understanding and empathy.
Based on the widely appreciated book Me No Pause Me Play by Manoj Kumar Sharma, the film highlights stories inspired by real experiences. Sharma, who has also written and produced the film, brings authenticity and depth to the narrative, ensuring that it goes beyond entertainment to create social impact and awareness.
Helmed by director Samar K Mukherjee, the film stars Kamya Punjabi, Deepshikha Nagpal, Manoj Kumar Sharma, Sudha Chandran, Amiee Misobbah, Karan Chhabra and Aman Verma, each portraying women who redefine strength, acceptance, and transformation.
Menopause deserves understanding, not silence. This film is about empathy, awareness, and acceptance — for every woman who faces this change with quiet courage.
Lead actress Kamya Punjabi added, “In our society, people have slowly started talking about menstruation, but menopause is still treated like a secret. It’s something every woman experiences, yet we’re expected to stay silent about it. Me No Pause Me Play gives that silence a voice — it’s about acceptance, courage, and reminding every woman that this phase doesn’t define her end, but a new beginning.”
The film’s screenplay and dialogues are penned by Shakeel Qureshi and Manoj Kumar Sharma, with cinematography by Akram Khan.
Set to hit theatres on November 28, 2025, Me No Pause Me Play is poised to become a defining moment for women-centric cinema — one that replaces hesitation with hope and silence with strength.
