Jyani pays surprise visit to Civil Hospital Zira; four doctors and one nurse found absent

Ferozepur, January 15, 2014: Four doctors and one nurse were found absent from their duties during a sudden visit of the Punjab Health Minister Surjeet Kumar Jiyani following which they were issued show cause notices on the spot.

Jiyani paid a surprise visit to Civil Hospital, Zira today during early working hours. Most of the staff members were found absent. The health minister himself checked the attendance register and after waiting for a while, show cause notice were issued to Dr. Indermohan Gupta (Ortho Specialist), Dr. Rajesh Attri (ENT Specialist) , Dr. Satinder (Skin specialist), Dr. Jatinder (Surgeon) and Kuldeep Kaur (Nurse).

Jiyani inspected the infrastructure and facilities available at the civil hospital. He also shared some time with the patients.

Jiyani stated on this occasion that the state government is determined to provide paramount medical facilities to the common man. He said that stern action shall be taken against negligent employees. He said that Punjab government shall appoint more doctors in the rural areas to provide better medical facilities. The government will also make sure that the existing staff performs their duties with sincerity.
