Jyani conducts surprise inspection at Civil Hospital Ludhiana

Ludhiana, October 26, 2013: After taking over the charge of the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab Surjit Kumar Jyani gave his first visit to Civil Hospital at Ludhiana on Friday.

The visit was termed as “surprise inspection”. During his visit, the minister announced to introduce advancement of facilities and services at all the district and tehsil-level civil hospitals across the state.

He also announced to get complaint boxes installed at all the district and tehsil-level civil hospitals in Punjab for early redressal of complaints.

Witnessing dusty exhaust fan in the hospital premises, Jyani stressed on regular cleanliness in the hospital premises. Regarding number of beds, he said number of beds would be increased, in the larger interest of the patients. The minister had even witnessed two patients sharing a bed.

With view to discourage unwanted rush in the hospital premises, the minister asked the hospital authorities to issue passes to attendants of the patients and fix visiting hours.

The minister was also surprised to see growth of wild grass in the hospital premises. He asked the hospital authorities to get it cleared immediately with the help of the Department of Forest Department.  He also asked the Ludhiana Civil Surgeon to send a proposal for making a room at the hospital centrally-AC so that more dead bodies could be accommodated in the morgue.
