Panjab University has informed that only three days remain for candidates to complete the initial registration process for the Panjab University Tourism & Hospitality Aptitude Test (PUTHAT) - 2026, meant for admission to Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology and Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management programmes at Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, April 28, 2026: Panjab University has informed that only three days remain for candidates to complete the initial registration process for the Panjab University Tourism & Hospitality Aptitude Test (PUTHAT) - 2026, meant for admission to Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology and Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management programmes at Panjab University, Chandigarh. The last date to generate the Login ID and Password through online submission is May 1, 2026, and candidates are advised to apply at the earliest, according to a press release issued by Punjab University on Tuesday.
The last date for fee submission through online mode is May 4, 2026, followed by the last date for uploading photograph, signature, and remaining information as May 6, 2026. Candidates who have paid the fee but could not complete their form will get another chance on May 13, 2026 (10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) by paying a late fee of Rs. 500/-.
Admit Cards will be available for download from May 12, 2026, and will also be issued manually on May 13, 2026 for candidates completing the process with late fee. The PUTHAT 2026 Entrance Test will be held on May 15, 2026 (Friday) from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with Chandigarh as the only centre.
The number of seats offered by the University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management (UIHTM) includes 60 seats plus 06 NRI and 15 Foreign National seats for the Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (Four-Year Programme), and 30 seats plus 03 NRI and 08 Foreign National seats for the Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management. Admission to both the courses will be based on the merit of PUTHAT 2026 conducted by Panjab University.
Regarding eligibility, the test is open to candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination (up to the academic session 2025–2026) from CBSE or any recognized board/university with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/BC/PwD categories) and English as a compulsory subject. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
The University has advised applicants to complete their forms in advance to ensure a seamless process.
