Joyalukkas Foundation Extends ₹2 Crore Support for Cancer Patients
The Joyalukkas Foundation has launched a major initiative to provide essential medicines to cancer patients from underprivileged families. Under the project, medicines worth ₹20,000 each will be distributed to nearly 1,000 cancer patients across the state. The total outlay for the initiative is approximately ₹2 crore.

The project was inaugurated on the occasion of World Cancer Day at the Chakkolas Pavilion Convention Centre, Thrissur, by Mayor Dr. Niji Justin, Thrissur Corporation. Actress, Mamta Mohandas Indian Film Industry, attended as the chief guest.
The initiative aims to ease the heavy financial burden faced by economically disadvantaged patients, for whom cancer treatment often poses a significant financial challenge.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Joy Alukkas, Chairman & Managing Director, Joyalukkas Group, stated that the project is being implemented as part of the Group’s continued commitment to social responsibility and service to the underprivileged. He further announced that steps have already been initiated to establish a charitable hospital in Thrissur dedicated to the treatment of childhood cancer.
Founded in 2009 to bring marginalised communities into the mainstream, Joyalukkas Foundation has been actively engaged in numerous philanthropic initiatives across India for over a decade. The Foundation has supported dialysis treatment for more than one lakh beneficiaries, provided free pacemakers to heart patients, extended direct medical assistance to hundreds of patients, and constructed over 500 ‘Joy Homes’ across Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. In addition, many children have benefited from the ‘Joy of Hope’ scholarship programme.
During the event, P. P. Jose, former coordinator of the Joy Alukkas Foundation, was honoured. Dr. Chitrathara, Director, Gynec Oncology & Breast Sciences, VPS Lakeshore Hospital, delivered the keynote address. Jolly Joyalukkas, Director, Joyalukkas Group; Rev. Fr. Julius Arackal CMI, Director, Amala Hospital; and Dr. Benny Joseph, CEO, Jubilee Mission Hospital, Music director Ouseppachan also addressed the gathering.
